Rules

The Dura rules must be followed at all times and generally apply to all official Dura platforms and media channels including but not limited to the game, discord, facebook & whatsapp.

The Discretion of a Gamemaster can override any rule or the details of that rule. Therefore we advise: if you think it could be construed as cheating -- to assume it is until it is confirmed it's not by a Gamemaster. At any time in any case Gamemasters have full autonomy to assess documented rule violations and apply Punishments as they see fit, also known as Gamemaster Discretion.

Dura acknowledges that it is impossible to cover every possible case of potential rule violation with a specific rule. For this reason, the "Gamemaster License" applies.

Repeated offenses of the same violation resulting in banishment can lead to account deletion.

If you disagree with a finding and would like to appeal, please feel free to open a support-ticket in the 'general-reports' channel in Dura's Discord or email us with details of the situation so that your case may be reviewed.

Gamemaster License
It is impossible that rules cover all qualities of a spirit of fair play. At the same time some instances of unfair play which the rules do not cover in writing are so flagrant that it is apparent such should not have been done and therefore punishment may be dealt out even for an unwritten rule. An example of this could be a player cloning items by exploiting an in-game bug, a player endeavoring to alter his character's stats by 'hacking' our game-server, or creating many in-game accounts to continually and concealingly harass a player in game. For these special situations a Gamemaster is given full license to judge a new or nuanced situation as he determines to be in the spirit of fair and constructive play.

You may not manipulate the official client program in any way or use any additional software to play the game, including but not limited to "Bots", "Macros" and "Taskers".
You will be checked by Gamemaster's frequently to ensure that you are not breaking this rule, if you are unable to respond to messages on your screen you will be identified as a cheater and handled accordingly. Knowing this, it is your responsibility to be aware that you will be checked and therefore not put yourself in a position where you are completing game-actions without paying sufficient attention to the game.
It is not acceptable for somebody unable to communicate with or follow simple in-game instructions from a Gamemaster to be playing a character at any time. Furthermore, it is your responsibility as a player to be aware that a Gamemaster may check you for cheating at any time using a variety of tactics that may not include text.

Note:
- Computer Programs which allow you to switch, duplicate, or bind keys -or mouse buttons- are allowed
- Computer Programs which allow you to optimize your internet connection are allowed

Punishment: Permanent Deletion of all known Accounts

You are only allowed to have one character online per person.

Dura is a game and part of gaming is people disagreeing with you which can lead to insults and offensive behavior. Remember that you can 'Ignore' anyone you want with the In-Game Ignore function.
With the above in mind, general and occasional insults do not violate our rules however repeatedly insulting individuals constitutes harassment and will not be tolerated.
Generally speaking if a player is being insulting via private message you should use the in-game ignore function. If a player starts creating new characters to continue this harassment please feel free to submit video evidence for investigation. Screenshots are not sufficient.
Note that what constitutes harassment is up to the discretion of the gamemaster, as is the severity which will determine the specific punishment.

Punishment: 3 - 7 day Banishment

Dura consists of Players from all over the world including multiple languages, cultures, and ethnicities. Remember that you can 'Ignore' anyone you want with the In-Game Ignore function.
Racist Statements in any form will not be tolerated. If you witness racism please feel free to submit video evidence for investigation. Screenshots are not sufficient.

Every person has a right to privacy. For this reason, the only person that may share personal data of an individual is the individual themselves.
This means that no player is allowed to disclose data such as real name, address, phone number, credit card number, email address etc. of any other player.

Punishment: 3 day Banishment - Permanent Deletion

Abusing or taking advantage of game mechanics and freedoms in order to deliberately and without justification excessively harass other players within the game, especially in ways which would prevent them from progressing within or playing the game.

A player being abused to the definition of this rule must make a Genuine Good-Faith Effort to resolve the conflict before this rule can be invoked and processed in any way by the Gamemasters.

Genuine Good-Faith Effort means a sincere attempt at reconciling the issues of conflict or making up for what has caused the Power Abuse (assuming there was a provocation). This requires the player being abused to attempt to resolve the dispute with their abuser - only when the player is unable to resolve the conflict after a serious determined attempt can rule 6.4a be invoked.

a.) Power Abuse: Players are not permitted to entirely prevent other players from Playing the game without Adequate Justification.

Adequate Justification includes taking part in wars (enemies) and consistently acting in bad faith (griefing, scamming, trolling etc.). It does not include petty arguments or disagreements over spawns. In all cases there must be a Reasonable Payout offered if requested to provide an option of neutrality.

Playing the game means having the opportunity (realistic chance) to participate in the typical activities of the game including but not limited to gaining experience and taking part in events. For the purpose of this rule, Playing does not include any action that may be classified as Adequate Justification.

Reasonable Payouts must be limited by the following formulas:
Level 1-50: 1,000gp * level
Level 51-120: 50,000gp + (level - 50) * 4000gp
Level 121+: 330,000gp + (level - 120) * 6000gp
If the conflict in question was "war" the maximum payment for players under level 88 increases to 200,000 GP.
An online calculator is available to calculate maximum reasonable payouts.

Additional Notes:
1. It is not acceptable for any individual or group to actively prevent any other player from playing the game entirely unless there is Adequate Justification and the requirements of Adequate Justification as defined above are met
2. A payout buys neutrality, not immunity
3. Deaths can form part or complete payment however only by mutual agreement
4. Level-gain caps can form part or complete payment however only by mutual agreement
5. In the case of stolen or scammed items, the prescribed maximum payment may be in addition to the return or value of the item(s) under common sense terms
6. Only players who are being abused to the definition of this rule are eligble for the protections that this rule offers
7. As concerns good-faith effort: It implies a period of time where the player being abused cannot immediately invoke the rule after doing the very actions that cause them to be abused; invoking the rule is not a weapon against the abuser, it is a last resort when there is no in-game recourse against power abuse
8. Read example situations and precedents

b.) Griefing: For the actions of a player to be punishable under this rule either the majority of their play time would be spent griefing or their sole intention in the game appears to be griefing.

Reporting Process & Policy

If you would like to report a player for cheating we encourage you to do so. All reports of cheating are 100% confidential and only Gamemasters and above from Dura's staff will be aware of the report and the details contained within it; the report is made anonymously, no one except Gamemasters will even know you made one.

When reporting a player for cheating there are three mediums at which you can do it:
1.) Dura Discord in the 'general-reports' channel;
2.) Dura official contact email: [email protected]
3.) "Report Violations" function in game (ctrl+r)

Please be aware that your report will be processed in a timely manner. For a player to actually be found in violation of a given rule it must be first investigated by Dura Staff. Through that investigation if it is determined to be conclusive that a given player is in violation of a rule then and only then will that player be punished accordingly per the rules. This can take time as we treat no account termination as casual, we do not punish unless we are unhesitatingly confirmed in such violation, and lastly there are many reports and cases on a daily basis.

Be aware of Rule 7a.) False Information: Intentionally submitting false information to Dura Staff members. Punishment: 10 Day Banishment to Permanent Deletion of all known accounts depending on severity.

Submitting a report that you think is a genuine violation but our decision determines it is not conclusively does not mean you submitted false information. It simply means you were mistaken or did not have conclusive evidence.

Note:
At no time does reporting a rule-violation allow for improper behavior. When opening a report to Dura Staff the following is expected. No cursing, insulting, threatening, ultimatums, or general disrespect. Any of these actions constitute a discontinuance of response and discourse form Dura's Staff on your report.
